Renée C. Lee – Vice President
Renée Lee is the Communication Manager for the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, where she handles email marketing, website management, editing, content writing, and storytelling. She has worked in Marketing/Communications for 11 years in several roles, including as Media Relations Manager for United Way of Greater Houston and Senior Communications Specialist for Ascend, a chemical company.
Before her current career, Renée was a newspaper reporter for 24 years. She worked at several news outlets, including the Eugene Register-Guard, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, and the Associated Press. She also worked for nine years at the Houston Chronicle before changing careers in 2013.
Renée is active in her community. She serves as a board member for Shield Bearer Counseling Centers and the Houston Area Council and volunteers for the Giving Gown Foundation. She is also a CyFEN member and a previous board member. In 2024, she received the Woman of Excellence Award from the Federation of Houston Professional Women.
Renée has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Regis University. She and her husband, Charles, have been married for 38 years and have two adult sons and two cats.
