Each Month FHPW features member groups as our
Organizations in the Spotlight.

The Memorial Women's Business Network was established more than sixteen years ago to provide  networking, business information, emotional support and social interaction for women who own or run their own businesses.  Each type of business is represented by only one category (i.e. one attorney, one salon, etc.).  This promotes healthy strategic parterning between members and strong referral-based relationships.

Guest speakers are invited monthly to share business tips, personal growth seminars and special interests of the members.  Members are encouraged to showcase their businesses by making presentations to our group on a rotating schedule.  The last meeting of each quarter is designated for members only to provide specific business solutions.  We also participate in several civic, social and charitable activities throughout the year to provide support for our community and promote leadership opportunities for our members.

Mission Statement

The members of Memorial Women's Business Network are committed individually and collectively to support the success of each member's business or professional service.

Meetings are held every Tuesday morning from 7:15 am to 8:30 am at the La Madeleine Restaurant at 770 W. Sam Houston Parkway (Kimberly Lane @ Beltway 8).

Society of Women Engineers

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a national, non-profit educational service organization dedicated to making known the need for women engineers and encouraging young women to consider an engineering education.

The Society of Women Engineers - Houston Area is honored to be hosting the national exhibit "Petticoats and Slide Rules" from January through May, 2008. The national exhibit highlights the achievements of women engineers over the past 50 years and celebrates these accomplishments. SWE-HA will also be gathering current achievements made by our co-workers and fellow engineers to display and celebrate in addition to the exhibit. This exhibit will have an opening debut, and will then be housed at the University of Houston, Rice University, NASA, and the corporate sponsor's locations.  More information can also be found on the Houston SWE website: http://www.swehouston.org/Petticoats.html.

The opening debut, which all are invited to, is January 24th from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm with Dr. John Lienhard speaking on "The Engines of our Ingenuity" at 7:00 pm, and the exhibit to be viewed before and after the speaker. The RSVP can be found on the webpage www.swehouston.org.
