Join us on October 25, 2010 at the HESS Club for our final FHPW quarterly meeting of the year, as we learn more about the upcoming ultimate face-off, known as the 2010 Mid-Term Elections. This event will be a wonderfully structured non-partisan event and will consist of a panel of two “experts” that are no strangers to this ever popular FHPW event – Mr. Richard Murray (UH Department of Political Science ) and Mr. Robert Stein (Professor of Political Science at Rice University). Ms. Beverly Kaufman, the current Harris County Clerk and a 2002 FHPW Woman of Excellence, will be our esteemed guest moderator for the evening.

Richard Murray has taught in the UH Department of Political Science since 1966 where he is presently Bob Lanier Professor of Public Policy and Director of Surveying at the UH Center for Public Policy.

Robert M. Stein, Ph.D., Lena Gohlman Fox Professor of Political Science at Rice University, Faculty Director of the Center for Civic Engagement. Professor Stein is an expert on urban politics, public policy and voting behavior.

Ms. Beverly Kaufman has served as Harris County Clerk since 1994. She is the Past Chair to the Board of Advisors with the United States Election Assistance Commission.

This event will be co-sponsored by three of our very own FHPW member organizations:

National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO)

Professional Women’s Network of Houston

Zonta Club of Houston

Networking for this event will begin at 5:30. We will hold a short business meeting before adjourning to hear our esteemed panel as they provide us insight into the one of the most historic, groundbreaking Mid-Term Election in many, many years. Registration link and form will be added here soon.  For now, save the date.  Vegetarian meals are available upon request with registrations received by the posted deadline.
